what is beam transporter

BEAM Transporter is a newly reimagined utility, like water or electricity, only this utility is designed to move packages autonomously, in the most efficient and quickest way possible. BEAM is designed to deliver goods to the consumer in 5 minutes or less, when those goods are within a 5 mile radius or in 2 hours or less, when they are within a 100 mile radius. The consumer and producer of products accesses BEAM through an App (application) or API (application programing interface). The products are sent or received in standardized containers through kiosks. The kiosk conveys containers to a sled which accelerates to match the speed and position of an already moving local transporter to onload and offload containers. Onloaded containers are in turn delivered to other sleds and presented at destination kiosks. BEAM never decelerates the main transporter and uses smaller, efficient sleds to accelerate and decelerate containers. By never allowing the transporter to slow, over 90% of the energy used in traditional package transportation is saved. BEAM does not stop or slow for traffic, traffic lights, stop signs or accidents and it does not slow for onloading or offloading. BEAM moves the physical world at the pace of the digital world and drives incredible growth in productivity for any community or economy that uses it. At a time when transaction and business speed is hobbled by a transportation model and infrastructure that is more than 100 years old, BEAM is the first real innovation in moving goods and packages since the invention of the airplane. BEAM will increase the velocity of money by increasing the velocity of transactions and transportation a dramatic boost in GDP for communities and nations which implement it can be realized. BEAM will make true JIT (just in time) possible for everyone. Goods can actually be purchased when they are needed, reducing waste, inventory and carrying costs for all consumers and businesses. More information on BEAM Transporter will be available at an in-person meeting with Kevin McGushion. Please contact Kevin at 310-266-1505 or email at kevin@beamtransporter.com

purpose

Delivers most of the things you need every day, automatically, in 5 minutes or less.
  • The customer places their order and the vendor receives the order on the BEAM App or API.
  • The vendor loads the order into a BEAM standardized container and then places it into a BEAM kiosk.
  • The kiosk transfers the container to the already moving BEAM Transporter via the sled (not shown). The transporter then takes the container to the customers kiosk.
  • Without stopping, the transporter unloads the container at the customers kiosk, again via a sled, for secure delivery of their purchase.
  • Only 29" in diameter, the transporter is designed to carry 98% of Amazon box sizes.

problem

  • The Physical world must run at the speed of the digital world
  • Consumers always want their deliveries faster
  • Pollution must be decreased
  • Streets are already overcrowded
  • Package security is absolute with BEAM
  • Robots are not the answer
  • Drones infringe on human space and can be unsafe, insecure and complex
  • Many cities are already banning drones
  • Significant legislative and regulatory hurdles exist

Transportation Cost gap

A significant gap in the cost per pound per mile exists between the most efficient and least efficient transportation modalities. BEAM is specifically designed to address this gap with a target per pound per mile cost of $0.10 - $0.20 with the opportunity to add a premium for expedited delivery.

transportation time gap

There are two significant gaps in the time to deliver a package between the fastest and slowest transportation modalities. The largest time gap is between 0.68 hour and 24 hour delivery, where BEAM will most frequently operate. Same day delivery will be guaranteed for most packages (usually within 1 hour) and expedited delivery in less than 0.5 hours for premium service.

solution

  • Dramatically improved efficiency of never stopping the transporter
  • The fast moving transporter accelerates only once and never decelerates
  • The smaller lighter sled accelerates to match the speed of the transporter and then onloads and offloads standardized containers

  • The sled delivers your container to your home or community kiosk
  • The kiosk can be used to send or receive containers by using the BEAM app or API
More About the sled
  • Sled 1 picks up container at kiosk 1
  • Sled 1 accelerates to match the speed and position of the transporter
  • Sled 1 onloads or offloads containers to and from the transporter
  • The transporter continues to sled 2 which matches speed and position
  • The transporter onloads or offloads to and from sled 2
  • Sled 2 decelerates and delivers container to kiosk 2
